Mariah Ingram
Superintendent
Mariah Ingram was born and raised in San Marcos, TX, coming from a culturally diverse family with deep roots in Texas, tracing back to 1767. Her journey in education spans over 20 years, during which she dedicated herself to fostering academic excellence and emotional well-being among students.
Her professional experience is rich and varied, including an independent research study in Belize that significantly broadened her educational perspective. She has also co-facilitated key programs such as Social Emotional Learning (SEL), a New Teacher Induction and Mentoring Program, and has worked at a Title I Part A Targeted Assistance Program campus for the past two years. In her most recent role, Ingram focused on building a positive climate and culture within her school, particularly working with at-risk students to help them achieve notable academic gains.
Beyond her professional life, Ingram is passionate about cycling, reading, and traveling, hobbies that not only enrich her personal life but also inspire her professional approach by offering new insights and energy that she brings back to her work.
Ingram is also a proud parent of two wonderful children: her son, Jackson, who serves as a firefighter in South Hays, exemplifying dedication and bravery and her daughter, Cora, who is set to begin her journey as a freshman at Sam Houston State University this fall, embarking on her own path of growth and learning.
Ingram shares that she is excited to bring her experience, passion, and commitment to KAPS, and she looks forward to contributing to KAPS's shared goals and successes.

Erin Gillespie
Registrar
Erin is a KAPS Alumni, class of 2003, as well as the mother of a KAPS graduate and a current student. Erin is representative of the good that Dragons go on to do. Beyond her duties as the school Registrar/ PEIMS Coordinator, she is a can-do, well versed face of the school, and knows well the values that keep us KAPS. When not keeping the records in order, Erin enjoys making jewelry, studying world dance and herbology.

Jeanna Wickersham
School Safety Officer
Jeanna was born in Sugarland, Texas, and grew up here in Wimberley, graduating from Wimberley High School in the class of 91. She has five children, one of whom is attending Katherine Anne Porter School. She has worked in EMS for over two decades, and she has worked with at risk children in the past.
Jeanna’s oldest daughter has recently graduated from Saint. Mary’s Law School in San Antonio, and has passed the bar to work as a licensed attorney. Her middle daughter owns a business as a showdog groomer.
Jeanna has studied emergency management systems, and has been working at Katherine Anne Porter School for nearly two years now.
In her freetime, Jeanna enjoys being an artist, and she once owned a sports photography business for over twelve years.

Gaylynn Clevenger
Licensed Professional Counselor
Gaylynn Clevenger is a native Texan, having grown up in Abilene, Tx. She attended North Texas State University where she received a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Art Education. She also has a Masters in Art Therapy from Vermont College and an Educational Specialist degree in Educational Leadership with a concentration in Special Education Leadership. Gaylynn has worked in public education for a number of years as a Teacher, Educational Diagnostician, related service Counselor, Assistant Director of Special Education, and as a Director of Special Education in San Antonio ISD and Del Valle ISD. Gaylynn values the assessment processes in education as it can help identify student strengths and challenges and streamline student learning. After many years in the hill country, Gaylynn currently resides in Wimberley, Texas.
While in graduate school in New England Gaylynn met her husband, Joe (He is a 7th generation New Englander), and the two have been married for 30 years, with two children, Evan (28) and Qincy (21). She also has a dog (Scout) and 2 cats. In Gaylynn's spare time she enjoys plants and gardening, river time, hiking, cooking, traveling and reading.
She feels passionately that all students can learn and as educators we should set a high bar for achievement. Gaylynn values a student centered approach to learning recognizing that all students are different. She also enjoys working with and being a part of a strong team that puts services to kids first and is very excited about working with the team at Katherine Anne Porter School!

Jenna Arunyon
Paraprofessional
Jenna Arunyon was raised in Houston, Texas, where she graduated from Clear Falls High School in 2019. Jenna moved to San Marcos, Texas, in 2021 and lives with her husband, and their cat, Kirby. Jenna is currently attending college at San Jacinto College and plans to transfer to the University of Houston in the Fall of 2026 to earn her bachelors of science in teaching and learning, focused on early childhood education (EC). Jenna began at KAPS in July of 2024, leaping at the opportunity to become the Special Education Para-educator. Jenna’s personal interests are outdoors activities such as hiking and swimming, film and music, and culinary arts. Jenna has found passion in helping the wonderful students at KAPS and being part of a community that nurtures creativity and pushes students to reach for their full potential.

Bethany Trentel
ACE 21st Century Site Director
& LSW for Community Support
Bethany Trentel was raised in Carrollton, TX with her six younger siblings. For college, she attended the Anne and Henry Zarrow School of Social Work at the University of Oklahoma where she obtained both her Bachelors and Masters degrees in Social Work. Before joining the staff at KAPS, Bethany worked as a Family Intervention Specialist in Oklahoma City. After starting at KAPS in 2024 as the 8th grade teacher, Bethany found herself in a community of like-minded individuals all passionate about creating lasting change for children and families. In 2025, she was hired to fill the ACE director position. She is community-focused and driven to create a welcoming environment for all KAPS students and families.

Avery Graham
ACE 21st Century Assistant to the Site Director
Avery Graham is a lifelong resident of San Marcos, Texas, where she is the owner of a small business called Avery’s Collectible Haven, located at Kyle Flea Market. She graduated from Katherine Anne Porter School (KAPS), 2022 alum, where she has committed herself to a meaningful mission: contributing to the betterment of her KAPS community through active involvement in the After School Program. During her formative years, she struggled with academic challenges and social difficulties, so when she came to KAPS, she found a welcoming environment that not only helped her with her education, but also helped make meaningful connections with her peers. She has shown her willingness to help the community whenever it was needed. She has a deep passion for the culinary arts, artistic expression, and literature.

Toni Weakley
Receptionist

Hayden Stone
Head of Maintenance
Hayden was raised in Nixon, Texas. Following high school (Nixon Smiley CISD Mustangs), he joined the U.S. Army and spent four years in the 10th Mountain Division in Ft. Drum, NY, with a year deployment in Bosnia. After his end term of service, he worked in private security (15 years) and attended classes at Texas State University., where he majored in Geography and minored in Photography. In his free time, Hayden says he loves doing anything and everything outdoors. He is a proud father of two kind KAPS students, and found this job through their admission to Katherine Anne Porter School.

Mikail McGuire
IT Department
Mikail McGuire grew up in Layton, Utah, and moved to Austin, Texas during his last two years in high school. From there, he attended Austin Community College, where he obtained an Associate's degree in Paralegal Studies. After working as a paralegal for a time, he moved to San Marcos to attend Texas State University to obtain a Bachelor's in Political Science. During this time, he decided to Minor in Computer Science, and found he had an interest in technology. Now, he works in Katherine Anne Porter School's IT department, helping however he can every day.
