Lino Cantú

Director of Special Services; ESL Bilingual

It has always been a dream of mine to be part of a community that focuses in the beauty and

talents of each student. As growing professionals, we must leave our comfort zones to grow as a person and as a professional.

I collaborated with Project Zero and discovered a new way of teaching. The dynamic in which I was able to develop lessons for students that have never been in a school setting was

challenging but an enriching experience. I instilled the joy of learning in new arrivals and

helped them discover that knowledge is within all of our possibilities. Changing the negative

view these young adults had toward education is one of the most life-changing experiences.

Role at KAPS: Technology Whisperer

Reason for being at KAPS: Having family and multiple friends who attended and graduated from KAPS, I want to be a part of the positive impact they took with them into the world after high school.

A drop out in the 7th grade; she homeschooled herself for 8th, waited for entry confirmation & after many hours in our after school program and the unconditional support from many teachers; she ended her years at KAPS not only excelling but assisting in her physics classes, taking AP courses, participating heavily in our musical theater program, winning the school a $2,000 grant & even inspiring a passer by at her bus stop to donate money for a new bus.

On top of her interest in psychology she has always been an avid history buff, an artist as soon as she was able to hold a crayon, and holds a love for all things nature

Korbin Evans

Discipline Committee/Communications

Korbin Evans is a KAPS graduate of 2018, and after a gap year where he took time to find himself, settled on a path of creativity starting with the field of video games. After pursuing a Bachelor's degree in IT to achieve the goal of video game creation, his true calling revealed itself through the process, in the form of storytelling. Korbin now dedicates most of his free time working towards his creative endeavors of designing both Comic Books and Storyboard animations for his future endeavors as a lead director of his own studio. Starting out, Korbin went to Private Academies for Kindergarten and First grade, but was schooled at home from grades 2-10. Unsure of his educational track, KAPS assuredly became the sole answer to all his academic woes. They caught him up in terms of insufficient education, and helped him get all the way through to graduation. Seeing an opportunity to help provide an atmosphere that directly had helped him in return, he felt it only natural to work here, at a place he truly believes in.
