DRACULA
Based on The novel by Bram Stoker
and
The 1924 Stage play Hamilton Deane
Story and Songs by Michael Moore
The play takes place in a British music hall in the year 1910, transporting the audience to the 1867, and occasionally breaks the fourth wall (to present times) when three of the sound people don’t quite get the sound effects right, and have melt downs off stage.
Dracula is visited by a young lawyer, Renfield. After Dracula dances a samba on his long dinner table to the song “Children of the Night”, he and his three brides make Renfield his willing slave. Fast forward Lucy Seward has come down with some unknown Malady. With the help of her father Dr. Seward, his mentor Dr. Van Helsing, Lucy’s very, very, simple minded fiance Johnathan Harker, and a vampire slaying Texan named Quincy Morris. Will they be able to stop Dracula before Lucy becomes a creature of the night? Will Jonathan ever be able to pronounce Van Helsing’s name correctly? Enjoy and evening of music, scares, and laughter.
