About the Katherine Anne Porter School
The Katherine Anne Porter School is a free, accredited public charter school in the Texas Hill Country with a focus on learning, nurturing individual interests, and enhancing community responsibilities. In small classes using an integrated, and practical approach, students are encouraged to become lifelong learners, and to achieve an accredited high school diploma.
Founded in 1998 by the former board members of the Katherine Anne Porter Museum, KAPS was founded to provide an open and free environment not only for the students, but for the staff as well. KAPS seeks to provide the best education possible with a focus on smaller classes and more individual attention for every student. The Katherine Anne Porter School is in its 11th year.
